New premium bookazine Nordic Homes brings authentic Finnish design perspective to global magazine market

A-lehdet, one of Finland's leading media companies, is responding to the growing international demand for Nordic design by launching the new publication Nordic Homes. The magazine will showcase Finnish and Nordic living, design, and lifestyle from a distinctly Finnish perspective.
The first issue of Nordic Homes, launching in February 2025, will present modern Nordic interior design and living from a Finnish perspective. The magazine offers a personal and unique approach that sets it apart from other publications in the market.
Nordic Homes is a premium bookazine publication without advertisements. It distinguishes itself from other Nordic interior and lifestyle magazines by specifically focusing on the Finnish way of life, while other publications tend to emphasize international or Swedish, Norwegian, and Danish homes.
New publication meets global demand
Terhi Hauskamaa, Director at A-lehdet, notes that Nordic Homes responds to broad international demand.
"The global magazine market is valued at approximately 33 billion dollars. Nordic Homes stands out in the market with its unique concept that combines modern Scandinavian style with traditions. We believe that Finnish lifestyle and aesthetics have strong appeal, and with this publication, we can reach our share of the international interior design audience."
Editor-in-Chief of Nordic Homes Kari-Otso Nevaluoma explains that A-lehdet's expert team has curated a collection of unique homes for the magazine.
"The magazine features architecturally exceptional and beautifully decorated homes that maintain a cozy and warm atmosphere. We include urban homes, vacation properties, and country houses. The interiors are designed either by the residents themselves or Finland's top interior designers."
Growing global interest in Nordic lifestyle
Heli Arantola, CEO of A-lehdet Group, explains that the company is expanding its international operations due to growing global interest in Nordic aesthetics and lifestyle.
"A-lehdet is the first Finnish media company to export its expertise on Finnish living and lifestyle content to international markets on this scale," says Arantola.
"We have successfully transformed from a traditional publisher into a diversified company that is growing internationally. Our media business growth is based on exceptional content authority, strong consumer insight and the ability to innovate as well as the agility of a family-owned business," Arantola continues.
A-lehdet has also recently launched Kotona.com, an English-language lifestyle digital media that offers international audiences a unique window into Finnish way of living and the art of creating cozy living spaces. The launches of Nordic Homes and Kotona.com are a part of A-lehdet's international growth strategy, which builds on the company's strong consumer insights and ability to identify emerging trends.
